Urban Farming Singapore
As urbanisation takes over, Singapore is quickly becoming a concrete jungle. With the amount of buildings and skyscrapers taking over, it’s hard to imagine there being any space for farming. However, with urban farming, Singaporeans can now enjoy fresh produce right in their backyard!
Singapore is a land-scarce country, with just over 700 square kilometers of land area. That’s why urban farming has taken off here in recent years, as people look for ways to produce more food locally.
There are now dozens of urban farming projects in Singapore, and we’ve compiled a list of the best ones! In this blog post, we will be exploring some of the best urban farming spots in Singapore.
So if you’re looking for a way to get back to nature and have some fun while doing so, read on!

I came here for a tour of the facilities; what these guys are doing is really terrific and it’s a shame there is such little government support for this kind of innovative farming, especially in Singapore which imports 90% of ALL its food.

Urban farming in the heart of Singapore’s Orchard Road area. On the first Saturday of the month, they host a free farm visit. Their farms are atop the terraces of the Scape mall, and it is intriguing to learn how it all started, their approach to sustainable farming, hydroponics and community engagement. Beautiful piece of Singapore’s countryside for sure. It’s a pity to see what the gov is doing to the countryside area, turning them all into high tech farming places. This place is a gem, and a great place to bring young kids here to educate them about greenery and all that. It has a lovely poison ivy cafe bistro place also. Sure it doesnt serve Michellin start kind of food, but I dare so that it is really nice to eat local produce (they serve local produce) at the bistro cafe! Also Ivy Singh is crazy but awesome!
