Easily my favourite place for quality sushi in Singapore. Hashida serves edo-mae style sushi, and the chefs are thoroughly innovative. Each piece is served with a different texture and flavour, sometimes fresh, sometimes aged, sometimes grilled with charcoal to have a beautiful smokiness, sometimes topped with shiso leaf or yuzu skin for some extra freshness. It’s a true delight. The new space at Mohammed Sultan Road might be a tad bit inconvenient, and not access friendly, but if you can it’s worth a visit. Lunch sets are great value

We dropped in for an early lunch. The server recommended the mini-Omakase, 5 courses going for $ 48++. Good choice for a start.

It’s not really an Omakase, more like a bento but served in courses and larger portions. But hey, I’m ain’t complaining. The starter was interesting, you drink an onsen egg in a cocktail glass. The sashimi was fresh in spite of it being Tuesday, the tail end of the delivery cycle. Then they hit you with a fried fish, the cod which was well cooked and aromatic. Then another round of sashimi served as a don. We finished off with a soup of asari. We were bushed after that bowl.

So good food. Service is brisk, passable.

I would definitely return to try the other stuff.
