Had a quick and light dinner ytdy night. Very nice food and ambience as well as friendly staff. I would suggest they consider using shoe strings for truffle instead of the thicker cuts :). We had Fries, Pork Katsu Sando, spaghetti was full of mushrooms (my little one it), salad w wasabi dressing, corn ribs (also not bad). Just nice for the 3 of us… Will go again for the other Sandos.

When we are about to say that Singapore doesn’t need any more Japanese-themed bars, Live Twice comes along and forces us to reconsider and sip on our favorites. We think the much-hyped beef katsu sando, which is served with Japanese mayonnaise and tonkatsu sauce, comes up to the hype.

Key Differentiators

  • A cocktail bar by Jigger & Pony
  • Inspired by mid-century Japan
  • Much-hyped beef katsu-sando

Customer Testimonial

Hip Japanese cocktail bar, nestled amongst the achingly beautiful shophouses. There is an exclusive and almost secretive feel to it, a place for an intimate encounter, either romantically or with someone close to you. The cocktails are delicate and fine, beautifully prepared and presented. The bar snacks are delicious and more akin to a tasting menu. A particular and memorable place, with a high price tag.

Really cozy neighbourhood cafe 🙂 The chicken katsudon sandwich with maple nut sauce was really tasty- chicken was a bit soggy but it was still a really nice sandwich. They have a weekday set for $9.50 now- any sandwich with a hot drink! I got a latte and my sister got a gemaicha latte. Both were super nutty and fragrant 🙂

The staff were friendly and the interior is really nicely decorated!! Will definitely come back 🙂

How can a sando listicle be written without including its namesake Sando? This specialty restaurant in Alexandra strives to emphasize the fun skill and mastery underlying the ostensibly straightforward and basic Japanese sandwich, despite its somewhat remote position.

A traditional dish, Gooralie Tonkatsu is made with free-range Gooralie pork loin, duck fat confit, and kombu mayo. However, you shouldn’t pass up the Beef Menchi Katsu, which has a whole cheddar-stuffed minced beef patty, or the vegetarian-friendly Kabocha, which consists of a pumpkin fritter and halloumi cheese combo.

Key Differentiators

  • Neat and precise construction
  • Quality ingredients
  • Beautifully well thought-out packaging

Customer Testimonial

Love this place! The sandwiches are super filling so come with an appetite. Tried two different appetizers so far, the tempura mushrooms and the takoyaki fries. We liked both but we liked the takoyaki fries just a bit more. Their lemon ice tea is tasty as well. Haven’t had anything here that we didn’t like so far. Will be back to try more of their menu!
