Are e-scooters the next big thing? Maybe not, but they are a ton of fun. If you have been thinking about getting your first e-scooter, or if you live in Singapore and want to know which e-scooter is best for you, this article will help. We have compiled a list of 8 e-scooters that we think are at the top of their class!

The Kernel / Passion DashStep RND M1 (which appear to be the same model, except with different brand decals) has incredible features.

One reason for this is that the 350W engine is a considerable upgrade over Xiaomi’s 250W motor. Typically, this wouldn’t make much of a difference since you can’t go fast in Singapore, but if you’re on the heavier side and/or riding uphill often, you’ll notice a difference. The wheels are also larger – 10”/10.5” compared to Xiaomi’s 8.5”, which makes for a more comfortable and efficient ride.

Key Differences:

  • Has a built-in rear LED light that creates awareness at night
  • Folding hook that secures the handlebar
  • Lightweight

Price$568

It’s basically identical to the Xiaomi Mijia M365 in terms of size, shape, and performance. The Segway ES2 by Ninebot is similar in appearance and weighs 12.5kg. Its top speed is 25 km/h (as fast as Xiaomi), and the battery lasts up to 25 kilometres (maybe somewhat longer than Xiaomi).

Over the past year, the price of the Ninebot scooter has plummeted like Hyflux shares. It used to cost around $800, but it has now dropped to $599/ If you’re searching for a cheaper alternative, this is an excellent selection.

Key Differences:

  • Locking system via phone app
  • Adaptive Energy Recovery System (AERS) during deceleration
  • Puncture-proof tires

Customer Review:

I’ve been looking for a folding scooter, and I’m glad I got this. It’s strong, portable, and easy to fold.

Price$499

The Xiaomi brand is well-known, and the Mijia M365 electric scooter continues to be extremely popular, even though it isn’t the most recent or fashionable personal mobility device available. The minimalist style is typical of Xiaomi devices – simple, sleek lines with just enough curves to make them more comfortable.

The design, on the other hand, is not only appealing to shorter individuals. If you’ve ever found that most standing e-scooters are too fragile and difficult to handle, the Xiaomi scooter should feel considerably more robust and safe than its competition.

Key Differences:

  • Affordable
  • Long-lasting battery
  • Has inbuilt front, rear and brake lights

The Ji-Move M1 / T2 has a cargo basket that is stored beneath the central portion of the frame, which is useful for stability, like the (popular but not UL2272 certified) Fiido e-scooter. It’s also marketed as a kid-friendly model because the child seat is quite well integrated rather than being an afterthought.

For an additional $100, you may upgrade to the Ji-Move M1x. The major distinction I can notice is that the frame is more Eiffel Tower-like; as a result, the scooter’s entire weight has been reduced from 15.6kg to 14kg.

Key Differences:

  • Bigger seated scooter
  • Has intelligent power system
  • Noiseless
