Coffee Syndicate is one of the newest coffee shops around, having opened last year. All of their beans are called Black Magic, a medium roast with notes of chocolate, nuts, and stone fruit. It has a strong body but is delicately sweet. The coffee base used in all their drinks (300ml per bottle) is a secret blend roasted locally in Bacolod made with 100% Arabica beans. espresso-based like the Americano for those who take it black!

Another coffee shop just opened within a 2km radius from my place and this one is right along my favorite bike route, Barangka, San Rafael climb. A minimalist coffee shop, it definitely is a place that will brighten your day. I tried Miss Saigon and was not disappointed. They just need a bike rack, and this would definitely be a great stop before, in between or after a ride. They serve refreshing teas too!

But it’s not just the packaging that draws us in; this beverage immediately stands out from the rest for its distinguished flavor profile.The coffee beans they use change with the seasons—for our bottle, Mount Malepunyo Liberica Red Honey coffee beans were used. They make for a great, robust sensation that’s also nutty (think roasted almonds and edamame), earthy, as well as fruity (we can’t pinpoint exactly what fruit we’re getting, but it tastes ripe and slightly tangy but not acidic).
