It’s been around for a while, but Gyukingu Japanese BBQ is still new to some. The restaurant’s premium Australian Wagyu beef is just one of many high-quality meats available. They also have short ribs (bone/boneless), cube and sirloin as alternatives to the aforementioned wagyu. They serve Japanese Saga beef, as well as lamb, pork and chicken. Authentic BBQ has been in Kepong for a few years and is still doing a brisk trade after many restaurants opened and shut in the same area. Their basic two-page menu offers numerous cuts of mostly pork, beef, lamb, chicken, and fish. Sweet sauce, lime, salty black pepper, and chili powder are some of the sauces and condiments available. The goal is to bathe grilled meat in sweet sauce before topping it with a light layer of black pepper and chili powder. For about RM50-RM60, you may have a hearty dinner for two that’s both filling and cheap.
