What comes to mind when you think of North America?

If you’re like most people, the first things that come to mind are huge cities like New York and Los Angeles, and natural wonders like Niagara Falls and the Grand Canyon. While all of these places are definitely worth a visit, North America is home to many other amazing travel destinations that are often overlooked.

In this blog post, we will explore the unique and unforgettable travel destinations in North America that you need to add to your bucket list!

1. Denali National Park, Alaska

Denali National Park is one of the best vacation places in the US for nature lovers. It is home to Mt. Denali, the tallest mountain in North America (also known as Mount McKinley). Everywhere you turn, you’ll also find unspoiled Alaskan wilderness and a variety of rare wildlife species. Grizzly bears, moose, wolves, and caribou are among the unusual species and vegetation that may be found in the park.

2. Austin, Texas

Austin draws a cool and eccentric crowd because to its amazing food, large parks, and unrivaled live music scene. In fact, to maintain Austin’s distinctively quirky reputation, local businesses have utilized the “Keep Austin Weird” promotional tagline. The largest graffiti park in North America is located in Austin. If that doesn’t demonstrate the uniqueness of Austin, we don’t know what will!

3. Niagara Falls, New York

The historic town of Valladolid may be only 30 minutes away from one of Mexico’s most well-known sights—the ancient Mayan ruins at Chichen Itza—but it has somehow managed to avoid being overshadowed by more well-known vacation spots like Tulum, Playa del Carmen, and Cancun.

Those who take the time to fully appreciate this lovely community, though, will quickly begin to wonder why it wasn’t at the top of their priority list from the beginning. Visitors visiting Valladolid will have a wide variety of things to do, from magnificent Spanish colonial buildings to bustling marketplaces. The hotels in Valladolid also compete with those in Tulum.

5. Savannah, Georgia

For Southerners, Savannah’s attractiveness is no secret, but if you’re from somewhere else, get ready to have your preconceptions shattered by a city that paradoxically manages to be both sleek and sophisticated as well as nostalgic and adorable at the same time.

Try to resist the impulse to take the ideal Instagram photo as you stroll down its lovely Victorian-era homes-lined ancient streets. Alternately, have a drink at a chic rooftop bar and observe the sun set over the Savannah River. Spend some money at one of the many international restaurants in the city before dancing the night away. Leave your assumptions at the door and do whatever you want.

6. Memphis, Tennessee

What is attractive about Memphis?

Well, let’s start with a strong dose of history.

Memphis has been the focus of many of America’s most culturally significant moments, from the Civil Rights Movement to Rock n’ Roll. Oh, and there’s also the renowned BBQ. But Memphis may be the most alluring city due to its hippest nightlife outside of Las Vegas. Given that it is the birthplace of Blues, Soul, and Rock n’ Roll, this makes sense.

7. Mar Chiquita, ManatĂ, Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico is once more open for business and prepared to reclaim its rightful crown as the king of Caribbean travel, despite the fact that the island is still recuperating from the worst natural disaster in its history. The stunning Mar Chiquita, a natural swimming pool fed by a solitary, cramped ocean entrance, may be found there. Its cascading blue and green hues entice swimmers into a state of blissful tropical relaxation.

Mar Chiquita is a destination that most tourists haven’t heard of despite being only 45 minutes from San Juan.

8. Grenada

While there won’t be as many tourists as in other parts of the Caribbean, there are 40 unspoiled white sand beaches with turquoise oceans, breathtaking waterfalls, an unspoiled tropical rain forest, amazing dive spots, three rum factories, and the first underwater sculpture park in the world.

Oh, and there’s lots of chocolate too—four businesses on the island produce delicious organic sweetness, earning it the moniker “Caribbean Capital of Chocolate.”

The question of “how is this place still so undiscovered? ” may come to mind when considering the abundance of gorgeous beaches that are only a short flight from the US.
