Dos Senoritas, located in Gladesville, is an authentic Mexican restaurant created by Chef Domingo. Proud of his heritage, he has brought the traditional flavors and textures of Mexico to Sydney-siders. The eatery is especially well known for its moles: Mole Poblano (chicken breast cooked slowly in green mole pepian) or Mole Oaxaca (chicken cooked in a dark chocolate sauce). What started as a humble food truck operation has now exploded into two hot spots–one in Redfern and the other in Dulwich Hill. And though both are excellent, the former is a fairer representation of fine dining while the latter is faster casual. The menu boasts many amazing options, but their tamales are a house speciality. Carbon, a 60-person restaurant) is one of the most popular places to go in Bondi if you’re looking for good Mexican food. The woodfired dishes are Latin American parrilla style and traditional, making use of hacienda cooking techniques from Mexico Caribbean. If you visit, we recommend getting a few share plates like Hampshire suckling pig or roasted lamb shoulder. Tim McDonald and Dave You, the founders behind Fonda, had in mind a restaurant that produces fresh Mexican food served simply and made with love.
