I doubt you’ll find another establishment quite like chef-restaurateur Alessandro Pavoni’s waterside institution. Enjoyed the signature degustation. Always nice to do the matching wines as it gets you out of your wine comfort zone and trying new grape varieties. Ambience is nice down on the water at the marina. Service was really fast, good and friendly. Clearly well staffed. Enjoyed. Try one of their classic cocktails with a twist.

Another example of Sydney’s many high-end fish ‘n’ chip shops. This one is run by two former Bennelong chefs, who have divided the business evenly: an upscale takeaway counter on one side serving creative takes on classic dishes, and a cozy restaurant on the other with a more expansive menu and Grifter beer on tap. The establishment has also become quite popular among some of the city’s best chefs.

Key Differentiators:

  • Takeaway seafood classics
  • Grifter beer on tap
  • Popular with city’s best chefs

Customer’s Review:

Sublime food, authentic flavours that we remember from Portugal! Started off with fluffy inside and crispy outside cod croquettes and super smooth and full-of-flavour chowder. Then we had mussels in the best-smoked paprika sauce and melt-in-your-mouth pan-fried calamari! Best washed down with Portuguese Super Bock beer. We regretted being too fool to try their Portuguese tarts.

I came here for $1.50 oysters on Wednesday night and I would visit again just for the oysters, but not the food. The service was nice and the oysters were the tastiest I have ever had, but there were shells left in some of the oyster. We also had the food here but it tasted very odd (not yummy) and we barely enjoyed eating it.
