Had a great night catching up with friends at Shukuu Izakaya. The charcoal grilled selections were well flavoured, smoky and juicy. Definitely get the meatballs! We found the Mackerel a bit too fishy for our tastes. Overall, it was a satisfying meal 🙂

8. Dosukoi x Donpachi Sake Bar

Would you like to try over 100 different types of sake and shochu, as well as some genuine Japanese cuisine? Then Donpachi is the place for you! The kaki oil zuke, which is a marinated oyster with salmon roe, is a good choice whether you choose to sit at the counter, grab a table. There are several primary courses, such as grilled mackerel and teriyaki beef steak. Sushi and sashimi, of course, are two popular rice dishes.

The restaurants also offer “ultimate meal-time sake,” Hakurakusei. Because of the high demand and small-scale handmade production, it is challenging to obtain because it is designed to be paired with food. It will taste better the more you drink it, thanks to its smooth flavor and little touch of umami. You may try three distinct polishing ratios at Dosukoi Donpachi. Why not take advantage of this rare sake opportunity?

You could be a little perplexed to locate this lovely restaurant, which is tucked away in the heart of Telok Ayer near the Amoy Street Food Centre, given its location on a heritage shophouse. The payoff will be worth it, for Kabuke combines the art of kabuki with the intrigue of high-quality Japanese sake. Whether you’re a novice or an expert on sake, there’s something for everyone in Kabuke.

It’s a fantastic Izakaya to spend some time with buddies over fantastic meals and gain a thorough knowledge on sake varieties, grades, and regions while relaxing.
